In a statement published on its official website, Rockstar declared:
“With the unprecedented longevity of GTAV, many have been asking us about a new addition to the Grand Theft Auto series. July 2022: Red Dead Online takes a backseat to make way for the new GTA

The most painful announcement came on November 6, 2025. Rockstar confirmed that GTA 6 had been delayed again, this time to November 19, 2026.
February 2026: Take-Two officially announces the marketing window for GTA 6
Take-Two confirmed on February 3, 2026, that the GTA 6 marketing campaign will begin in mid-2026 (between June and August 2026).
