Rockstar Games is making it clear that the future of GTA 6 (Grand Theft Auto VI) goes far beyond a single campaign; the company wants to focus on major gameplay mechanics inspired by Roblox and Fortnite.

New job openings posted by the company reveal an aggressive strategy to transform the franchise into a User-Generated Content (UGC) platform, inspired by the success of giants like Roblox, Fortnite, and even TikTok.
Rockstar job listing confirms that GTA 6 is inspired by the monetization models of Roblox and Fortnite

Job openings for positions such as Strategic Research Associate and Senior Product Manager, based at Rockstar New York, seek professionals with a "deep understanding of creator platforms."
The company wants experts who understand why fan-created games on Roblox sometimes have more players than AAA titles. Key requirements include:
- Mastery of ecosystems: Familiarity with creation tools, marketplaces, and monetization models.
- Expertise in roleplay (RP): In-depth knowledge of the GTA RP ecosystem to lead the company’s strategy in this sector.
- Focus on monetization: Rockstar wants to build sustainable systems that allow creators to build, publish, grow, and monetize their own experiences.
This move confirms that the acquisition of the Cfx.re (FiveM) team was just the first step. The "Creator Platform" team is now spread across the globe working on tools, APIs, and SDKs that will allow players to officially create custom game modes and servers.

This corroborates a recent statement by influencer HipHopGamer, who claimed that GTA 6’s UGC system will be a “millionaire-maker.” By launching the Cfx Marketplace in January, Rockstar has already signaled that paid modding will be the new standard.
A bit of my opinion
Back in 2017, when the Fortnite phenomenon was exploding with its live events and creation tools, I was already saying: “Rockstar is going to follow this path with GTA 6.” At the time, I was the butt of jokes, but the facts of 2026 have finally proven me right.

Comparing GTA to Fortnite wasn’t about aesthetics or shooting gameplay; it was about business and longevity. While some got stuck on the superficial comparison, Rockstar was watching how Epic Games turned a game into a profitable social network.
