If you’ve been waiting for the perfect opportunity to return to the Wild West of Red Dead Redemption 1 with the official PlayStation 5 (PS5) box in your collection, the time has come.
The Spanish store Wakkap beat Rockstar Games to the punch and has already opened pre-orders for the native physical edition of Red Dead Redemption for the PS5.
And we at Portal Viciados, having already reviewed this version (score: 8!), can confirm: the physical media will deliver the best graphical experience of the 2010 classic right out of the box.
Price and release date for the physical version of Red Dead Redemption on PS5
According to the store listing, the game will be released on May 7, 2026, hitting the market at a reduced price of 32.90 euros (about 190 reais). This edition includes the original campaign and the zombie expansion, Undead Nightmare.
Until now, anyone who wanted the game on disc had to buy the PS4 version and perform the free digital upgrade on the PS5. With this new native disc, players simply need to insert the disc and play, without licensing bugs and with all technical improvements already applied to the disc.

When my colleague Rafael Vieira tested Red Dead Redemption on the PS5, he noted that Rockstar Australia and Double Eleven did a solid job, bringing the game closer to the "ULTRA" settings of the PC version.
Although the disc version is the definitive one, it’s important to remind collectors of what we noted in our review: this game is not a remake.
As a result, the PS5 version still retains some characteristics of the 2010 Rage Engine, such as cactus models and hats that appear more polygonal up close, as well as the lack of support for 3D spatial audio and the DualSense controller’s adaptive triggers.
