Although Rockstar Games has remained tight-lipped about the multiplayer component of its upcoming blockbuster, leaker The Ghost Hope stated on Twitter (X) that the company’s current plan is to launch GTA 6 Online within a month of the base game’s release.

The major concern is infrastructure. If the launch of GTA 5 Online in 2013 was a technical disaster that lasted for weeks, imagine the volume of traffic in 2026.
Rockstar will face the monumental challenge of handling millions of simultaneous players during the holiday season, where any server outage could have a massive negative impact on the game’s reputation.
